Prof. Qiao Weiyang
Head of Turbomachinery Aerodynamics and Acoustics Laboratory (TAAL), Northwestern Polytechnical University
Prof.-Dr. Qiao Weiyang, is a tenured professor and the head of the Turbomachinery Aerodynamics and Acoustics Laboratory (TAAL) in Northwestern Polytechnical University (Xi’an, China). At present, he is also a member of the expert panel of the National Aero Engine and Gas Turbine major special basic research committee, and a member of engine test technical committee of Chinese Aeronautical Society, the director of the academic committee of Key Laboratory of aerodynamic noise control in CARDC, the deputy director of the academic committee of Key Laboratory of aero engine internal flow aerodynamics of shaanxi province. Prof.-Dr. Qiao Weiyang has more than 30 years experiences in unsteady flow, aeroacoustics and related fields, where he generally emphasizes the analysis of the unsteady flow field and sound field of turbomachinery and sound source localization with microphone array. He has led and participated in numerous National projects and Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects related to aircraft noise reduction and gas turbine engine design, and has published more than 300 papers in turbomachinery aerodynamics and aeroacoustics.
