Professor Hua Chen

Professor Hua Chen obtained his PhD degree from the now University of Manchester, England in 1990, and worked at Imperial College, London and Honeywell Turbo Technologies in UK. When he left Honeywell in 2013, he was Standard Executive of Honeywell Turbo Technologies and a senior principal engineer. He now works as a professor of mechanical engineering at Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering College of Dalian Marine College, China.

Professor Chen has worked on research and product development of radial turbomachines for turbocharger and other applications for 34 years, and has published more than 80 English papers on peer reviewed journals and conferences. He is a world expert on aerodynamics of radial turbomachinery. More recently, he is working on application of renewable energy and hydrogen energy to ship propulsion.
