Turbomachinery Technical Conference Asia 2023

The 2023 GPPS Technical Conference will be taking place in Hong Kong this October 17 -19, 2023 hosted at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). The event is expected to attract a wide spectrum of reseachers and industry representatives. With multiple keynotes from highly experienced and knowledgeable speakers. As our fourth Technical Conference in Asia, we very much expect this to be one of the highlights of the Power&Propulsion Conference lineup of 2023. The topics include Aeroacoustics & Noise, Combustor & Combustion, Deposition, Erosion, Fouling & Icing in Gas Turbines, Ducts, Nozzles, Exhausts & Component Interaction and Integration, Energy Systems & Carriers, Energy Transition & Renewables, Heat Transfer, Instrumentation, Control, Testing, Monitoring & Diagnostics, Secondary Air System & Sealing, Mechanics and Materials, Supercritical CO2, Thermodynamic Cycles for Power & Propulsion, Turbomachinery Aerodynamics, Turbomachinery Aeroelasticity, Turbomachinery Unsteady Aerodynamics and Pumps.

GPPS 3rd Turbomachinery CFD Workshop

The 3rd Turbomachinery Workshop will take place as part of the GPPS Hong Kong23 conference on October 16, 2023.The workshop will take place in a hybrid format (the conference will take place in person).

Built upon the experience from our previous workshops, we would like to launch our 3rd workshop. Three test cases are involved: the TUDa-GLR-OpenStage Transonic Axial Compressor, the BUAA Low Speed Large Scale Axial Compressor and the ETH Zurich 1.5-stage Turbine. The datasets of the two compressors are freely available to the public and can be downloaded from the workshop website. Accessing the datasets of the turbine requires attendance of the conference in 2021 or 2022 or registration of the upcoming conference or workshop.

Energy and Aviation Forum24 Switzerland

We are pleased to announce the dates for the new Forum24 event, taking place on January 17th – 18th, 2024. The Forum24 event will follow last year’s format with two days of energy related topics covering both Aviation and Energy Systems. Discussions will include subjects along the entire value chain highlighting the demands and requirements of society and our industry today. Addressing possible solutions and for energy generation technology, storage, sustainability and security.

Turbomachinery Seminar 2024

The turbomacinery seminar will give attendees an overview of working principles of turbomachinery used in industrial applications. These machines include gas compressors, gas turbines, and steam turbines. The thermodynamic, aerodynamic, and rotordynamic principles, as well as control concepts are explained with the goal to understand the constraints and opportunities that arise for these machines, and by extension, the applications they are used for. Among these applications are power generation, gas compression for upstream, midstream, and downstream applications, including LNG but in particular applications in the field of carbon reduction, the hydrogen economy, and CO2 capture, transport and sequestration.
