GPPS Focus Groups

Our Global Power & Propulsion Society (GPPS) Focus Groups play a strategic and forward-looking role in shaping both the technical direction and the global impact of Global Power and Propulsion Society. These groups are more than discussion forums—they are collaborative working bodies that actively influence the Society’s initiatives, programming, and partnerships.
By bringing together a diverse network of subject-matter experts, industry professionals, and academic researchers, the Focus Groups create a structured environment for meaningful exchange. Participants contribute insights drawn from real-world applications, cutting-edge research, and cross-sector experience. This collective intelligence helps the Society:
• Identify emerging technologies and trends in power and propulsion systems
• Address critical technical and operational challenges facing the global community
• Shape conference themes, workshops, and technical sessions
• Inform standards, best practices, and knowledge dissemination efforts
• Strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and government organizations
Through regular dialogue and targeted initiatives, Focus Groups act as incubators for new ideas and catalysts for innovation. They help anticipate future needs in areas such as sustainable propulsion, advanced materials, digital engineering, and next-generation energy systems—ensuring that GPPS remains at the forefront of technical advancement.
Equally important, these groups foster global engagement. By encouraging international participation and multidisciplinary collaboration, they reinforce GPPS’s commitment to inclusivity, knowledge-sharing, and worldwide partnership.
Ultimately, the Focus Groups serve as a bridge between strategy and action—transforming expertise into initiatives that support the Society’s mission to advance power and propulsion engineering for the benefit of the global community.
