Mohsen Chegnizadeh, a Ph.D. holder in Electrical Power Systems, possesses almost a decade of experience in the Iranian Ministry of Energy (MOE). His expertise includes artificial intelligence in power systems, distribution network resilience, and the integration of renewable energies.
He actively spearheads research initiatives while engaging in collaborations with power companies. Within the Ministry of Energy, he specializes in critical domains, particularly focusing on energy policy and the transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources. In this context, he has recently engaged in direct collaboration with the MOE in formulating the “Outlook of the Iran Electrical Energy System 2040.”
He serves as the representative of the MOE to disseminate information to the forum regarding the current and prospective policies pertaining to the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energies in Iran.

Abstract:
The speech will focus on the “2040 Outlook for Iran’s Electricity System,” highlighting a pivotal shift from reliance on fossil fuels to renewables with a strong emphasis on eco-friendly practices. The outlined objectives encompass adapting best technologies to diversify the power generation portfolio and fuel carriers, ultimately reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing grid sustainability. This forward-looking 2040 outlook is aligned with the country’s regulations, incorporating global experiences into the local context. The presentation will get into the development process of this outlook, addressing key points, challenges, and opportunities within the country. Additionally, it will present MAPNA Group’s initiatives to the effective implementation of this transformative vision.
