Martin Fehr

Martin Fehr is the Head Private Equity for Swiss Re and part of Group Asset Management. Based in Zurich, he leads a team of investment professionals focused on managing Swiss Re’s portfolio of primary commitments to private equity funds, secondary transactions and coinvestments.
Martin Fehr joined Swiss Re in 2004. Initially based in Zurich, he was involved in the development of Swiss Re’s hedge fund investment strategy. From 2007 to 2010, he worked as investment professional in Swiss Re’s private equity team in New York.
Between 2010 and 2019, Martin Fehr was based in Hong Kong, overseeing Swiss Re’s direct investment activities in South East Asia and India. In 2015, he was appointed Regional Head Principal Investments & Acquisitions Asia.
Martin Fehr returned to Zurich and into his current role in 2019; and was appointed as a member of the Asset Management Leadership Team in 2023.
Throughout his time at Swiss Re, Martin Fehr has been involved in various corporate development and strategy efforts of the firm, including setting up a new operating structure for Swiss Re’s reinsurance business across Asia.
Martin Fehr was born in 1978 and is a Swiss citizen. He graduated in economics with a specialization in finance and capital markets from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. During his studies he participated in an exchange with the MBA program of the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, NC, USA. Martin Fehr is also a CFA charterholder.
