RWE’s perspective on energy supply and security in Europe
Kunal Chandra joined RWE from Siemens and brings with him over 15 years of experience in the international energy industry. At Siemens, he built up the renewable energy business with a focus on hydrogen and power-to-X technologies, among others. As Program Manager he also played a key role in the successful carve-out of Siemens Energy. Before that, Kunal Chandra worked for Shell in Singapore, Nigeria, India and the Netherlands, managing projects in the field of LNG. Kunal holds a Bachelor in Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and an MBA (Honors) from IMD Business School, Switzerland.
Recent events in Europe over the last 3 years have put tremendous pressure on our energy systems. Energy security is front and center on everyone’s mind and while many believe that achieving energy security can be incompatible with the ongoing energy transition, we believe that the right government policies and decisions from the businesses can in fact accelerate the green transition and achieve a higher degree of energy security for the planet. Focus on reinforcing our supply chains and creating clear regulatory frameworks to restore investor confidence in long term investments will be critical to achieve secure and sustainable future energy supplies.
