Keynote 4: Reserve Power Plants for Switzerland
Denis Peytregnet holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and an MBA from the University of Lausanne.
Denis has extensive international experience in the fields of power generation, power transmission and distribution and industrial applications. After working as a development engineer in the field of gas turbines, he held the positions of sales engineer for power generation solutions, head of sales for turnkey substations and product manager in service for generators and electrical systems.
Since 2019, Denis is a Network specialist at the Swiss Federal Office of Energy. His main tasks are the development and implementation of regulations and solutions for grid automation (smart grid), integration of photovoltaics and electromobility into the grid, flexibility solutions and tariff models, self-consumption solutions for communities and the development of decision tools for cable and overhead line projects.
Denis is also a member of the electricity section of the Federal Office for Economic Supply, which monitors the current electricity supply situation and develops solutions in case of shortages.
Today, he acts primarily as deputy project manager for the Swiss reserve power plants and project manager for the temporary 250 MW gas turbine power plant currently being built in Birr.
