Toshinori Sekido was named Executive Fellow in June 2018 after four years of the Executive Vice President position in IHI Corporation. In his position of the Executive Vice President of IHI Corporation, he was Chief Technology Officer and was also responsible for new business development for the Corporation. Sekido had been Chairman of the Board of Directors in Japanese Aero-Engines Corporation (JAEC) from 2016 to 2021. And he had been Chairman of The Society of Chemical Engineers Japan from May 2020 to April 2021.
Sekido earned Bachelor degree and Master degree (1978) in Faculty of Engineering in the University of Tokyo. In IHI and in the aero-engine industries Sekido has been playing key roles in the last 30 years. And his responsibilities extended to all technologies related to IHI’s business other than aero engine technology when he was Chief Technology Officer. Currently, as a member of The Society of Chemical Engineers Japan, he leads carbon neutral activities in Japan.
