Rüdiger Thomas is Aircraft Powerplant Executive Expert in Airbus Propulsion Engineering. This role covers propulsion systems and APUs for all programs and the full life cycle including the preparation of the future with a strong focus on future propulsion architectures, energy transition and sustainability; it also ranges from working with key suppliers to preparing internal capabilities.
Rüdiger has been working in Airbus Engineering for 30 years, with a solid experience in Engine Performance successively leading A330 and A340-600 activities, leading the team for A380 and initial A350 developments, Senior Expert and Head of the Engine Performance Domain. He also took responsibilities as New Single Aisle pre-program Propulsion Architect, Head of the Aircraft Acoustic Domain and CTO R&T Roadmap Owner for Propulsion with a special focus on new energies.
Rüdiger holds an Engineers diploma and a Master of Science in Energetics & Combustion from Ecole Centrale Paris.
