Dr. Eng. Aniello Cozzolino is the head of Research and Preliminary Design Department (PHT, Piaggio High Technology) at Piaggio Aerospace. He received his PhD in Aeronautical Engineering at University of Naples in 1988, and his PhD in Management in Aeronautic at Cranfield University in 1990.
After an experience at Geven within production department working on planning and control of passenger seats, he has worked at Alenia Company (now Leonardo Aircraft) for 11 years in the preliminary design of different airplanes (ATR72, ATR42MP, A400M etc.), and has participated in several EU co-funded research projects.
He joined Piaggio in 2001 as Manager of Research and New products. In this role, he participated in the definition of P180 Avanti II and P180 Avanti EVO derivative aircraft, and in the P1HH/P2HH technology plan and preliminary design. He has also participated in more than 40 EU Research Projects in the 6°(2002-2006), 7°(2007-2013) and 8°(2014-2020) EU Research framework including Clean Sky and Clean Sky 2 European Private Public.
He is member of Euromart Airframer research organization and of ACARE Italia research organization.
