Toshinori Sekido

Toshinori Sekido was named Executive Fellow in June 2018 after four years of the Executive Vice President position in IHI Corporation. Sekido has been Chairman of the Board of Directors in Japanese Aero-Engines Corporation (JAEC) since 2016.
In IHI and in the aero-engine industries, Sekido has been playing key roles in the last 30 years as an engineering leader, as a program manager and as President of Aero Engines & Space Operations of IHI, establishing good partnership relations with global companies such as GE, P&W, and RR. With the visions and strategies, IHI is continuing active investment on technologies for the future.
Sekido earned Bachelor’s degree and Master degree (1978) in Faculty of Engineering in the University of Tokyo and, during 1997 to 2004, Sekido served as an Assistant Professor (Part-time) in the University of Tokyo, giving lectures and reviews on Aero-engine Design. In his position of the Executive Vice President of IHI Corporation, he was Chief Technology Officer and was also responsible for new business development for the Corporation.
