Dr. Michael Ladwig has gained over 33 years of professional experience in the field of gas turbines. Educated as aeronautical engineer in Stuttgart, he received his Doctor of Engineering from the Universität der Bundeswehr Munich. After five years working for MTU on jet engines he joined the power generation business of ABB in Baden 1990. For 12 years he focused in gas turbine development including General Manager of ABB Uniturbo in Moscow, GT26 development manager in Baden and finally General Manager for the GT Engineering for all ABB heavy-duty gas turbines. 2002 he changed to Marketing & Sales to lead the worldwide re-launch activities of the upgraded GT24/GT26. 2012 he started in his present role as Director Scientific Collaboration overlooking the collaboration with external partners and representing what is now GE Power in various governmental, academic and industrial organization.

One of the associations is EUTurbines, the European Association of Gas and Steam Turbine manufacturer, which he led as President from 2016 till spring this year, continuing to serve as Vice-President.
