Head of Global R&D for Siemens Power Generation Portfolio

Mr. Stefan Becher is the Head of Global R&D for Siemens Power Generation Portfolio, covering Aeroderivatives, Industrial and Large Gas Turbines (Power Range 4 up to >500MW) as well as Steam Turbines and Generators.

Mr. Stefan Becher is located in Muelheim an der Ruhr (Germany).

He is with Siemens for nearly 20 years and had held different positions in R&D, engineering and Service in the Siemens Power & Gas business. He started his career at Siemens in the area of Large Gas Turbines, with a focus on Axial Compressor Design and Reliability. Following, he was deeply involved for several years in providing technical support for the existing service fleet with focus on lowering lifecycle costs and ensuring highest availability of the Siemens Fleet. Prior to his current position, he was the Director of Siemens Global Product Engineering for Large Gas Turbines and Generators. He has an extensive expertise in R&D product development and R&D program management.

Stefan has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ruhr-University of Bochum and he holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
