GPPS Zurich19 Closing Ceremony

On behalf of the GPPS Zurich19 Organising Committee, we would like to thank all of you who have contributed to the planning and running of this years Technical Conference. The quality of papers has been exceptional, also mirrored by the dedication and commitment provided by the reviewers, speakers, Chairs and panelists. Your time is duly appreciated and we very much look forward to working with you again in the future.

As recognition of the hard work and extraordinary contributions to research carried out within the engineering community, GPPS has made a series of annual awards designed to recognise excellence and achievement in both specific and general fields of Power and Propulsion.

GPPS Zurich19: Paper Deadline

We would like to remind you that the deadline for paper submission is approaching, Monday, 24th September, 2018.

The GPPS Zurich 2019 technical conference announced its call-for-papers a couple of weeks ago. This fast-track paper submission asks for a letter of intent where the authors should indicate the subject and the title of their paper, they want to present at the conference.

Herewith we would like to inform you that the deadline for the submission of the letter of intent has been extended by two weeks. In order for us to conduct the review process more effectively, please submit the letter of intent by 16th July 2018 via our Webtool.

Further to extending the deadline we have issued additional submission guidelines which can be found below.

Authors should submit a statement of intent via the GPPS webtool. This should specify Track, Authors, Title and Keywords. At this stage uploading an extended abstract or draft paper is not required. Final acceptance of papers will be determined by peer review of the draft manuscripts and approval of final papers by the Review Chair. If warranted by review, papers may also be recommended for publication in an associated journal.

One author for each paper published in the conference must attend to present. A registration fee is required.

All presented papers will be published preceding the forum, with selected papers published within the GPPS associated journal after the event.

Submission Guidelines


1     Original Papers (recommended length 8 conference paper pages (approx 14 journal pages)) which could be:
a.    A paper describing recently successful research
b.    An exhaustive report of a failure
c.    A Key Note transcript based on an original and inspiring key note contributions
d.    A progress report describing research in progress and its preliminary conclusions – for non-archival publication, i.e. conference only
2     Review Papers (recommended length 8 conference paper pages (approx 14 journal pages)) which could be:
a.    An exhaustive review of a broad field
b.    An exhaustive review of limited to a single topic
3    Technical Note (Maximum length 2 conference paper pages (approx 2-3 journal pages)) which could be:
a.    Urgent (e.g. discovery) report on unfinished work
b.    Conclusive work but only of limited scope e.g. model modification, modification to a measuring technique or data evaluation scheme

Contributions of high quality (in all categories except 1d) will be recommended for archival publication in the Journal of the Global Power and Propulsion Society JGPPS, c.f.

In 2019 the GPPS Executive Committee has decided to offer a New Format Event consisting of two days of Technical Conference followed by two days of the GPPS Forum, both taking place at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland at the beginning of the next year.
