Alessandro is Full Professor of Fluid Machinery in Energy Conversion Systems. He received his PhD from the Sapienza University of Rome in 1996, and is lecturing Thermal Machines and Energy Systems at the Department of Mechanical and Aeronaspace Engineering.
He has been involved since 1993 in the development of FEM based RANS solver for the prediction of turbulent internal flows, with emphasis on the development of stabilized formulation for turbomachinery CFD. Alessandro actively collaborates with TAFSM at Rice University, USA.
Alessandro is active in the field of industrial turbomachinery and energy systems working on CFD-based design concepts, noise reduction technologies, control and fault monitoring.
Alessandro serves as Associate Editor of the Proceedings of IMechE Part A: Journal of Power and Energy and on others editorial boards in the turbomachinery field. He has published over 100 papers, including 35 journal papers, and has 4 patents.
Alessandro is co-Founder and President of the spin-off company SED Soluzioni per Energia e Diagnostica Srl developing biomimetic fault detection and diagnosis technologies.
